This is valid.

I remember being 18, sitting around in my podunk town of St. Cloud, MN, bummed that there weren’t any shows coming up. So I got on the emails and asked Rev Norb if Boris the Sprinkler, one of my favorite bands (hailing from Green Bay, about five hours east of St. Cloud) would be willing to come to town. He gave me the dates they were available, I found a couple openers and talked to the coffee shop I hung out at about hosting the show. Done. I’ve been booking shows ever since.

I got to see Boris the Sprinkler in a small town in the middle of nowhere because I bothered to make it happen. Still one of the best shows I ever saw. DIY or die.
